Disneyland Announces Price Increases and Major Changes to Annual Passes

Early this morning, Disney Parks and Resorts increased prices and altered their existing Annual Pass programs for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Interestingly enough, there is no increase in regular ticket costs this go-around, just Annual Passes (AP’s).

Premium passes have now been replaced by two new tiers, Signature and Signature Plus. Signature is blocked out from December 19th to January 1st only and includes Parking. Signature Plus has no blockout dates, and includes parking.  Existing Premium passes are still valid, but do not include the PhotoPass Digtal Downloads benefit (see below).

These changes are quite interesting. The splitting of Premium into Signature and Signature Plus boils down to a difference of just two weeks of admission. $200 for just those two weeks of admission? However, those are some of the busiest holiday crowds of the year. Drastically altering the passport program to just focus on these specific dates is an interesting move. Clearly the resort is addressing the burden of too many passholders showing up on the busiest days of the year.

Signature, Signature Plus, and Premier passholders now get free digital downloads of their PhotoPass photos, but they come at a premium price!
