The grand opening of the new Marvel themed land expected to open this summer at Disney California Adventure has been postponed due to the continuing coronavirus closure of the Anaheim theme park.

The previously announced July 18th opening date for the new Avengers Campus coming to Disney California Adventure has been delayed, according to Disney officials.

The Disneyland website that once proclaimed Avengers Campus would be “opening July 18” now says the new Marvel themed land is “coming soon.”

Disney has halted construction on the Avengers Campus during the coronavirus closures of the Anaheim theme parks. In line with direction from government and health officials, the temporary closure of the Disneyland Resort includes all construction sites and refurbishment projects, said Disney officials.

“The project team is looking forward to resuming work as soon as it is safe to do so and will communicate a new opening date once they have definitive information,” according to MiceChat, the Disney fan website.
